FSE offers various functions such as face area detection/tracking, face feature point extraction/tracking, and personal identification, etc from images or videos. With these functions, FSE can enable a wide range of applications, such as auto-face focus, auto-categorization of photos by person, people search from an image database, and face login authentication for mobile devices, etc.
Ever since its launch in 2005, FSE has been adopted in various products and services including digital cameras, mobile phones, portable game software, and mobile content services, etc, as its performances and functions continued to grow. Over 10 million FSE licenses has been provided all over the world.
While each of the previous FSE versions has been offered as a different product for a different customer, Version 4 integrates previous FSE versions into one product with multiple functions, while allowing customers to choose required functions. New APIs are also offered to enable future expansion to OKI's video surveillance modules, which are scheduled for release in future. In addition, “High accuracy mode” is newly available for customers who need high accuracy for their applications.
Moreover, in addition to the conventional software implementation, face detection hardware IP is also available. The hardware IP allows customers to implement FSE's face detection function on their hardware, enabling faster face detection while reducing CPU usage.
With FSE Ver.4, OKI will bring more intelligence and entertainment to mobile devices such as digital cameras and mobile phones, offering easy-to-use and compact face recognition function. |
